Is there any possible way left?

Alching.  In the past it has been the one solid way to create a net of money whilst gaining massive amounts of experience during the process; but can it still work?  Many people argue that the High Alchemy spell should be used for people who are willing to either spend their hard-earned cash, or who have collected the resources for alching themselves. This is a good point, as these two factors floor...

Spoiler plugin

Simple Spoiler Enhanced

There isn’t much to this plugin, it is really simple! It takes <spoiler> </spoiler> in the post editor and hides the text.. like below :)

Show ▼

Twitter Tools

Twitter Tools

With half the world posting tweets every few hours, Twitter Tools has lots of really useful features! It enables a blog to show a Twitter feed on a widget, with a wide variety of options like the removal of @person tweets. Also in the plugin you can directly post Tweets from the blog, saving you going onto the Twitter.com site; as well as options on creating tweets about your blog posts… It’s one full plugin!

Co-author plugin

WT Co-authors

You can’t really say a lot about Co-authors. It does what it says- you can add multiple authors to your blog post (very useful when collaborating!) with one easily-added custom field.

Sidebar Login plugin

Sidebar Login

The Sidebar Login proves very useful with anybody who comments a lot on a blog. It is purely just the Login page, in widget form! There are a few different options in it, a notable feature being the abilty to re-route after the user logs in.

Lightbox pluginBank Image - 28/08/09

Lightbox Plus

This is the master of image-based plugins. The Lightbox plugin optionally controls the dynamic display of images from any sized image (for example, the thumbnails to the left). Technically, it’s called a “image overlay tool” Think of the Runescape bank, appearing over the game-play screen itself :) Lightbox Plus can also use the Wordpress Gallery feature and adapt it.
There are lots of different styles within the plugin, so considering how small the file sizes are, this plugin is a must-have!

So we have come to the end of the road! Hopefully you have found something useful to take away for your Wordpress blog! Until next time, take care!

Firstly, Happy New Year! It’s been a while now since the blog has been active, and quite a few of you have been asking how we go about certain things here, so let’s take you behind the scenes and show you some of our plugins! A plugin is essentially an add-on for something, which alters the way certain features behave.

If you don’t have a blog, Wordpress is a incredible blogging tool for anybody with their own website; though if you dont, stop worrying- consider making a Blogger account! Click on the images to see them larger (Lightbox Plugin!) Let’s get started…

SEO Plugin

All in One SEO Pack

One of the most useful tools around, this plugin optimizes your blog for Search Engines and without it I doubt you would be reading this!
The only real downside to this plugin is that an API key is required from a Wordpress.com account.

Akismet plugin

Akismet

Akismet is equally one of the best plugins around- with over 2.1 million downloads, Askiment reduces and eliminates spam comment and trackback spam. If Askiment doesn’t register a comment as spam however, you can simply mark it as “spam” on the moderation screen and Akismet will ‘learn’.

Register Plus plugin

Register Plus

Registerin to something and aving to wait for an email with a password you didn’t set is one of the downsides to Wordpress. Luckily, that’s where this plugin steps in! It gives the capability to create personal passwords, show a password strength indicator, email verification, enable CAPTCHA, disclaimers and much, much more!

Wordpress.com Stats plugin

WordPress.com Stats

Stats is the best plugin available for tracking clicks to, from and around your site; with referrer-site data, search engine terms that have resulted in visits to your site, blog stats and a ‘top posts and pages’, you can’t go wrong! Also with the new version is the ability to share this information with other people through the
“Stats Access” area. However, this plugin requires a Wordpress.com account.

WP-Polls plugin

WP-Polls

All of those polls which you have voted on in the past were created with this plugin. Simple, complex, multi-answer, vote counts, dynamic AJAX scripting, archives and editable outcomes are just a few of the many features this plugin carries with it. And to top it all off, it comes nestled in its own neat little widget!

Be sure to look out for the second part on Monday morning! Until then, have a great weekend and take care!

We’re back and better than before!

Version 2 Money-Runecrafting Calculator

It turns out that there really are no good calculators giving both XP and profit/loss.It is also apparant that the ZMI altar hasn’t got any calculators either…. Overall people say that the ZMI altar is the best way of obtaining XP. However, they don’t take into account the opportunity cost of money for not using other methods. The ZMI altar is one tricky altar to make a calculator for, as each individual run gives different runes; and higher Runecrafting levels give better runes. Therefore an average of the runes you make will be solely useful to you. This calculator (at the moment) compares your own ZMI run data with Lawcrafting data. The reason I have chosen these is that they are the most commonly used methods to 91, to achieve double natures.

Nikki and Alli

Nikki and Alli

Morning all! there’s to be some changes around here, and some mighty big ones! So this is your one-stop track to finding them- check back here regularly to see udpates and regular mishaps about thegrandexchange and loads of fooling around (: Wait, not loads…

The first big change is that this is no longer Nikki’s blog. Oh no, it’s a community blog now! Many of you active members have been sent emails asking you to partake in this wondrous activity that we call blogging, and you can do so right here! If you’re missing an email and really want to be part of the team of bloggers and contributors here, give Nikki or Alli a shout (or a quiet whisper if you’re scared of them) and they’ll be happy to discuss and sort you out! Hang on… Alli? Who’s she?

Many of you will know the small, petrifying and rather annoying Aletia7, who also happens to be my co-admin at thegrandexchange, and the time has come to introduce another blogger to our midst.  Together, Alli and myself are launching a new update to TheGrandExchange.com which, as many of you will guess, has long been in the process of developing, so it seemed only fitting to introduce her here also! Watch this Space for more information! All we can tell you right now is that Christmas should be good this year…

I’m really looking forward to Alli helping me out, so leave her a comment here welcoming her! And… without further ado I give you, Alli!

Hey, I’m Alli! This is something Nikki came up with while we were Woodcutting in Edgy together.. And I liked the idea and thought we could have some fun with this and make it that little bit different and a lot bit special.
And she does have permission to insult me, but I’ll get her back ^^
Anyway, enjoy the blog..

We will be back in the New Year. Until then, have an awesome rest of the year and Merry Christmas!!
